                                         Not Your Dad's FOP

Chicago---------- Team Philanise and Chicago Fraternal Order Of Police, Lodge 7  President John Catanzara, Jr. enjoyed a meet & greet brainstorming session to address the recent ongoing tensions between the Chicago's police and various stakeholders in the community. Some of the issues both agreed upon was the negative perception of the FOP from the past and how he plans to recruit and welcome members into a new diverse Lodge. Catanzara noted that the first meeting of the membership was very well attended and new faces were present which he found to be a step in the right direction toward building a stronger and more representative membership; one that will reflect the diversity of Chicago.

One of the things Catanzara stressed that isn't covered in the main stream media is the fact that police officers are cleaning up problems that were not started by officers, but are often blamed for the overwhelmingly negative incidents. Philanise White supports the idea that Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) should be given a chance to have their voices heard and to be the first to settle any complaints, disputes and/or necessary disciplinary actions within the FOP, and not in the court of public opinion or by elected officials. "Procedures are important, and  the FOP  and its members are prepared to work within their organization to address issues and to come up with viable resolutions that will help build confidence among all stakeholders," White said.

White said she welcomes the assistance of Catanzara and the Chicago FOP to open doors of collaboration throughout the 1st Congressional District as well as with key LEOs throughout Illinois. Doing so, she stated, only "makes sense."  The two plan to meet regularly to lend support and insight into how working together will help bridge the divide within the most challenging communities as well as return to the "Officer Friendly" days where LEOs were trusted and valued members of society.

Illinois' 01 Not So Black Panther, Silent On Biden's Statement

Chicago-------------- When Democrat nominee Joe Biden uttered this statement during a radio interview recently "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black," me and other Blacks in Chicago's heavily Black congressional districts waited to see what the response would be from our elected officials. And, as those of us whom the statement was directed (Trump supporters/voters) knew, nothing was said to condemn the underlying slight of " how-dare-you-ism" as a reminder to Blacks, who for decades were the Dems "safety net" voting bloc. It also reminded me of the words of President L.B. Johnson when he said: "I'll have those Niggers voting Democrat for the next 200 years!" Yes, I kept the "N" word there because that was a direct quote; Johnson's words, not mine! Dems truly believe that Black's only role during election time is to vote blindly for them; anything else would be viewed as an anti-loyalist or as they put it racist! Have Black Dems not noticed the recent statements and/or gestures made by their own party's presidential hopefuls of the recent past? For example: Deplorable; carrying hot sauce in purses; speaking with a Southern drawl when addressing an all Black congregation? "I don't feel no-ways tired...." etc. No, silence, because for them, (Black Dems) that's business as usual or perhaps they have become so indoctrinated to the overtures, that they hardly if ever, realize the put downs and racist remarks when it's right in their faces.

But what probably disappoints me the most, notwithstanding the obvious, is the silence from the once proudly proclaimed "Black Panther" of the bunch, You know, "lifer politician" and the most vocal of the Trump Derangement Syndrome congressional incumbents, Bobby Rush. He's quick to comment on statements from the Fake News media that puts out unsubstantiated "facts" only to have them retracted, or be proven wrong and foolish later. He even proudly flaunted his H.R. 666(6) Bill disguised as a health safety tracing program. But wouldn't a former (or as he'll have it) member of the Black Panther organization find what Biden said reprehensible if not totally a slap-in-the-face of the very people the Panthers were organized to uplift? The complacency of incumbent Rush is a constant liability for the voters of the 1st Congressional District, which he has occupied for over 27 years with little to show for it but excuses, mismanagement and absenteeism.

I for one, will not hold my breath waiting for the incumbent in IL01 to do what he knows is the right thing to do, and that is to MAN UP to Biden and show him what BLACK truly looks like. It's way past time for Rush to turn in his Black Panther cape, step aside and allow someone who will not only stand up to injustice, but will stand up for and with the constituents that need and deserve real representation!

This is exactly why I'm prepared to defeat him on November 3, 2020

and give the voters of IL01 what they need; A New Choice ~ A Better Way!

Governor Pritzker Releases Prisoners Amid COVID 19

Protecting Nursing Home Residents & Seniors Ignored

Chicago _______________ Philanise White, Republican candidate for congress in IL01 agrees with Kevin Graham, president of the Fraternal Order of Police, Chicago Lodge 7 when he expressed concern over Governor Pritzker's release of criminals from prison onto the streets over COVID 19 concerns. White, who has a degree in Criminal Justice and works within the health industry stated: "I question the rational of releasing convicted criminals onto the streets, while nursing home residents continue to suffer alone amid the COVID 19 virus, many of whom have died,"  Governor Pritzker has released convicted criminals from prisons that have had little or no reported cases of the virus, this according to recent reports from several sources including the Epoch Times, health officials and law enforcement personnel. "Illinois seniors and others residing in nursing homes or who have had to be taken to area hospitals have committed no crimes, yet they are left to suffer without the benefit of family to support them. Nursing homes have long been a haven of neglect, abuse and what others would call prisons for the elderly, now this; putting criminals over our most vulnerable, just doesn't make sense," White stated.

White, who supports law enforcement, first responders and others on the front-line helping to keep citizens safe, says she concurs with Graham that if penalties for crimes are ignored, then what incentive do people have not to commit a crime? White has put out a call to family members who have loved ones in nursing homes or are hospitalized for COVID 19 to contact her via her campaign so she may work with them to reach their elected officials and to join together to address the unfair treatment of families that cannot see or visit their family members.

WILL NORTHPOINT LIVE BY THE "GOLDEN RULE"

OR RULE WITH A GOLDEN ROD?

Chicago, February 21, 2020 --------------------------

When Philanise For Congress was contacted recently about NorthPoint Development's plan to put an industrial park in the small town of Elwood, IL with parts spilling onto Manhattan, IL in the southern park of the 1st Congressional District, the staff knew immediately that the residents had had enough of what was nothing more than an attempt to force them out of their homes, land taken away, and the decimation of a sacred veterans cemetery and burial site trampled on, under the guise of jobs and improved infrastructure.

One of the lead residents of the Just Say No To NorthPoint movement suggested that Team Philanise look into the situation and join with them to send a loud NO to NorthPoint, the Village/government leaders and to Congressman Bobby Rush who flew in via VIP helicopter to give his stamp of approval and support of this ten-year project to displace an entire community. According to NorthPoint Development's website, its motto: “Beyond the Contract,” in part touts them as being a dedicated partner who's committed to being a responsible neighbor. But according to several of the residents, NorthPoint has been anything but a responsible neighbor and have found everyway imaginable to navigate around their concerns, issues and outright disapproval of this massive project.

Upon researching, Compass Business Park would be an ambitious  project, five times the size of Midway Airport bringing with it traffic nightmares and other challenges. So when was the deal made? Team Philanise's research shows that plans may have gone as far back as a decade, but has reared its head more aggressively recently; why? well it's an election year and there are lots of goodies on the table to be given to those seeking a big financial reward or anyone who would support the project at the expense of the constituents and residents that call this area home. And why not? Isn't that what career politicians do? Not only do the residents and voters of  Elwood, Manhattan and others who will be displaced and sold out for ten pieces of silver have to say NO to NorthPoint Development and Compass Business Park, but they must send the same message to Congressman Bobby Rush and all other politicians who signed on to this project!

Team Philanise stands with and for the constituents of Elwood and Manhattan Illinois; not to seek political favor because it's an election year, but because it's the right thing to do. And according to NorthPoint's core values, this company must Do The Right Thing Every Time and Put People First!  But more importantly they MUST live by the Golden Rule: Do Unto Others, As You Would Have Them Do Unto You!  Under those words, NorthPoint and Compass Business Park should consider looking for another site for their project and show that they don't just recite the words, but live by them!

LEADERS FOCUS ON SHAM IMPEACHMENT, CHICAGO’S CRIME ESCALATES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CONTACT: A.J.

312-554-5015

friendsofphilanisewhite@gmail.com

Chicago ----------- January 20, 2020. "Chicago crime has passed the critical point, yet its leaders seem hell-bent on deflecting away from these facts, opting instead to talk about a sham impeachment that most of the country is against. This is not the issue we should be consumed with on this Martin Luther King holiday." said Philanise White, Republican Candidate running for congress in Illinois' 1st Congressional District.

"Residents are growing increasing tired of hearing about impeaching President Trump while their own homes are burning down." White went on to say.  This comes after a series of robberies, car thefts and shootings taking place throughout the city. Reports of robberies among women have increased in south side middle class neighborhoods over the past few weeks, according to district police accounts. “I think the residents of Chicago, regardless of where you live, or how you lean politically, want to be able to live in communities where they aren't constantly looking over their shoulders to see if they will become the next victim." White said.

White would like to see activist, community leaders and others band together to address the onslaught of criminal activity in the city, which she says will only get worse, if people don't start to be pro-active with moving toward real solutions. "You can organize and get a million men to march on the Nation's Capitol year after year to demand change on various topics, largely civil rights issues, which I am also an advocate for; but, I don't see this same urgency in the neighborhoods where these crimes are taking place. Imagine the impact that would have in Chicago!"

White invites interested parties to reach out to her through her campaign website http://www.philaniseforcongress.com to collaborate on solutions.

The latest news of robberies on the south side can be read from various sources including neighborhood blogs.

DEJA VU, OR BURGE NUMBER TWO?

Chicago------January 15, 2020.    When Philanise White, Candidate for Congress in IL01 read about the recent charge of aggravated battery against Dixmoor Police Commander Ronald Burge, Jr. it brought back memories of another Burge, a Chicago police officer who brutally beat, lied and imprisoned innocent men for years before going to prison himself.  Dixmoor is a small municipality in the 1st Congressional District just south of Chicago, where crime has become increasingly the norm, and tensions between the residents and the police have been strained for years.

"Instead of the Dixmoor police making news for its oath to Protect and Serve, the son of the Police Chief has added to the claims by many who live in this small predominately Black town, that the police have become nothing more than a squad of thugs and bullies" White said. "It makes it hard for me to justify to my constituents why I support law enforcement when a police officer almost twice the weight and who towers over a 66 year old woman, found it necessary to allegedly drag her almost caveman style inside the police station and manhandle her over using her cell phone to capture a dispute involving one of her relatives. It's a senseless action and calls for independent investigation into the matter, since the perpetrator is the son of the Dixmoor Police Chief," White added.

White is calling on community activist and others to join her in a press conference to address this and other incidents of police misconduct so things will not escalate into something out of control. White hopes that others, especially those running for public office will make this part of their campaign agendas and to offer solutions to this on-going problem between the police and the residents. "We don't want emotions to take flight with this incident and it turns into something more serious," we need and want time for cooler heads to prevail," stated White.

PHILANISE EMERGES TO BECOME REPUBLICAN PRIMARY CANDIDATE

CHICAGO -------- JANUARY 11, 2020

Philanise White, Republican candidate running for Illinois’ 1st Congressional District has emerged from a crowed field of hopefuls to face the democrat’s primary challenger this November. The official results of the Illinois Election Board’s Objection ruling decisions were made over the weekend, with the decision to remove two of the Republican candidates after the objections were filed against them were sustained. There were initially three other Republican candidates that filed petitions for the 1st Congressional District, but one withdrew amid several serious infractions to his nomination, that was objected upon by a congressional constituent.

White believes that the residents of the 1st Congressional District are long overdue for a representative in Congress who will work toward their interest and not the political posturing that has been on display for the past three years since President Trump as taken office. “Everyone knows that Illinois’ problems began long before Donald Trump decided to run for Office,” White stated. “The incumbent has been in office for well over 25 years and in that time, the district has become increasing divided between the Haves and the Have-Nots. There is an increase in crime including shootings among gang members that have affected the lives of everyone within the inner-city communities within the 1st Congressional District; communities and Townships such as Englewood in Chicago, Posen, Robbins and Dixmoor in the South suburbs that are part of the District,” White went on to say.  However bleak the current situation may appear under the Trump administration, one has to remember that it’s just smoke and mirrors from the Democrats trying to focus a failed economy, increase in criminal activities, high taxes and an exodus from the state as a result of Trump’s policies. Not true, simply not true,” White concluded.

Philanise White was elected in 2016 and currently serves as Chicago’s 7th Ward Republican Committeewoman, and is no stranger to politics. She promises when elected, to give the voters of the 1st Congressional District, as her tagline suggests: A New Choice ~ A Better Way. White also served as Illinois’ Co-Director for Black Outreach and Engagement for the Trump/Pence 2016 campaign. She is an active advocate in the 7th Ward which includes a small part of the 1st Congressional District. She serves as secretary of the Bessemer Park advisory board, and was instrumental in helping to get then neophyte alderman, Greg Mitchell elected in 2016.

TIME FOR SUPERINTENDENT JOHNSON TO HANG UP HIS CAP!

Chicago--------October 19, 2019

Early Thursday morning, October 17, 2019, Chicago Superintendent Eddie Johnson was found slumped over in the driver's seat of his vehicle when an unidentified person saw him and investigated to see what happened. According to news sources, Johnson experienced a "health  incident" related to his prescribed medication. However, later sources reported that Johnson spoke with Chicago's mayor, Lori Lightfoot telling her that he was returning home from dinner with friends, where he admittedly disclosed having a couple of drinks.

As a lifelong Chicagoan with a degree in Criminal Justice, I find Mr. Johnson's actions to be in direct conflict with his duties as superintendent. With the ongoing tensions that plague the city (police coverups, increase in shootings, drugs and gang violence) what we can't afford is a leader who's conduct adds to that list of egregious activities! Drinking and driving is against the law, and as we have seen in various social media threads, no one is above the law!

If Johnson doesn't voluntarily step down as the leader of the Chicago Police Department, the citizens of Chicago must demand that he does. Or, will this be another late night coverup?
